a1: the ghetto - tremendous edit which has been subject to some huge soundcloud loving. over 9000 plays and 500 favourites and counting! this track takes the basis of the original sample, adding some love with a heavy beat and groove, shuffling percussion. the soundcloud feedback cant be wrong! top track!
b1: for the love of soul - great original track, this suonho reloved version is even better! given a heavy beat, re-arranged and some brilliant percussion. this track really flows, proper groover!

the fourth release on dont be afraid >west acyd shelter< takes one of the most important jazz funk records of the 1970s as its starting point. semtek rebuilds the legendary hook from scratch over a disorienting range of acid, broken and techno accoutrements leaving a tweaked out bassline stepper. photonz bring their unique lisbon via essex style to the proceedings with an >i cant believe its not garage< take on semteks beat, proving yet again that they are a force to be reckoned with in 2011. the b-side >east acyd shelter< is a sparse analogue workout that would be at home as much in legendary and much missed kings cross hangout the key, as it would in a james bond soundtrack of the timothy dalton era.

the newly crowned dutch emporium of all things disco tinged swiftly presents a second round of vinyl-only gems - commencing with the classic philly disco boogie strains of >just cant get enough< which contains just the right amount of deviations into sonic filtration. complementing this is the instrumental boogie heat of >lets go swingin< which fully demonstrates the majestys pleasure talent for slicing and dicing the groove. turn over for the insistent chugging sounds of >tainted binary< which unfolds brilliantly into a string heavy disco epic. the best is perhaps saved for last as >didnt mean to dub u off< reveals itself as a crystalline filled excursion into 80s proto house excellence.

the long awaited new single taken from aeroplanes debut album >we cant fly<. >my enemy< is definitely the most dancefloor orientated track on there, but nevertheless we included a blinder of a remix package for you!
up first is rex the dog (kitsune, kompakt), who makes >my enemy< even more epic, or should we say arpeggiotic?! the legendary green velvet (cajual, relief, music man) on the other hand turns it into an unmatched rolling monster for the dancefloor. if thats the enemy, we wanna make it up!

killer new 12 inch with no information or song titles, simply called >scott grooves white label of the month<. the a-side is an incredible techno track full of energy guaranteed to move the crowd at peak time. the b-side is a grimey, acidic drum work out that will have the heads banging and bootys shaking. cant wait to see what mr. grooves has in store for us next month

in fact, >in a hole<, the a-side of their latest 12 inch, is even more dream-steeped than its predecessors. relying on vintage (and in some cases, home made) gear, simon and tsai have constructed a song that is syrupy in pace. darkened tones mingle with floating percussion and vocals processed to nearly melancholic depths. >cant feel my knees< picks up the tempo, and feels slightly sunnier in comparison (>perhaps a result of practicing for the first time in a place with windows<, according to simon), with rippling keys that give way to an open, spacious sigh and an almost playful interlude of warmth and bass punctuations. the two have said theyre interested in the meeting point of house and noise, and thats particularly apparent on the two remixes that appear here. >in a hole dub< is slower, more bare-boned and ghostlier than the track from which its derived, while >cant feel my knees dub< is filled with white noise emissions and hissing electro shocks.

after his 12 inch debut on tjumy last year we welcome roman on philpot with this remix package including erdbeerschnitzel and soulphiction remixes. both do a brilliant job twisting the originals with their trademark mixes and roman also contributed a new track in the same vein as his predecessors … deep shits!
